Year and place: 1932-50, Eskilstuna (Company formed with the merge of Munktells and J & CG Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstads AB.)

I know almost nothing about J & CG Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstads AB, but they built the first working submarine on this planet. It was produced between 1879 and 1883 by them and Palmcrantzs Verkstäder. The 60 metric tons heavy submarine was 19 metres long, and equipped with a 110hp steam engine. When it should dive, the fire was put out, the pipe taken down and the direction set - since it had no periscope they could not see anything when under water. The 3-men crew had a candle for light and as a oxygene measurer. One submarine was sold to Greece, and then two was ordered from Turkey.

Europes first combine-harvester was constructed in 1940.

In 1950 the company was purchased from the bank Handelsbanken - by AB Volvo.)
