Year and place: 2005-, Trollhättan
In April 2006 the Cadillac BLS was exhibited on Stockholms Bilsalong.
I was told that this car was the first Cadillac car made in Sweden, so I gave it a special welcome-thought.
When introduced, the BLS is the cheapest of the Cadillac cars. It uses most of the components used in Saab 9-3 and some from Saab 9-5 (another GM brand, one of several that uses the same components), but has a more 'smooth U.S.A style comfort' and more sound insulation.
The exterior has the most obvious difference, and even if the middle of the car 'is a Saab' it has a completely different appearance. It looks Cadillacish.

The future will tell how well it will sell, and if there will be more Cadillac cars made in Sweden. Or maybe other GM brands. Or even Saabs...
