Year and place: 1924, Ludvika
The background of this car is more unusual.
A woman got ill in the late 1910s. She saw a newspaper article about a 3-wheeled carriage for disabled, and asked her husband to build her one. And he decided to build a real car. (Hopefully he also built the simpler carriage, since it took more than four years to finish the car.)
The engine was of a german make, and the seats were taken from another car. Otherwise most of the car was constructed by Julius Mauritz Essén himself. The body was open with a soft top, and it had 4 seats. It had wheels with steel wire spokes.
The constructor died in 1925, and his wife donated the car to the local museum four years later.
(In one book printed in 1997, it is said that the car is still at the museum but without engine and tyres. It will be renovated and put on display as soon as the museums economy make this possible.)
