Year and place: 199? and on, Ugglerum
Esther is the result of a nice group hobby, or rather the nice results.
With the british sports car Lotus Seven giving inspiration, and among others wreck yards providing parts like engines and gearboxes, 15-20 small Esthers have been born in the garage of Lasse Svensson.
Esther is a wild baby, and can be rather thirsty. With a weight of 600 kg and a 100hp engine she can do 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds. One source tells that she can drink up to 5 litres per 10 km when driven with the gas pedal on the floor. It is ok to take Esther out on the swedish roads.
It takes some 1.000 hours to give birth to an Esther. Most of the cars have been built for friends to the carbuilders. I hope they have and get many friends - so their hobby continues and we can see even more Esthers on the roads.
In July 2002 I met some Esthers, and naturally I invited them to come with me. Well, at least I got some photos.
Grey: Faster Seven (another car make). Blue: Esther Seven with B20 engine, gearbox and rear axle from Volvo. Red: Esther Seven from 1999.
This li'l red lady has the same measures as the original Caterham.

I wonder what's in the boys mind.
In summer 2003 I saw this Esther on Mantorp.
