A collection of 'almost finished cars' and finished cars.

This is what Paavo Haapalainen found in a forest earlier. And below is the result of the restoration.
It is built to comply FIA (Historic) Roadsport rules, and it is used in racing. This Silver Hawk is powered by a 2.3 litre VW Type 1 engine that's been dynoed to 189hp and 252nm. Its weight is about 650kg. At an airfield they measured that the car easily made 190 km/h, but due to the wind they didn't try to break the 200 km/h barrier.
May this be the fastest Silver Hawk ever? Paavos 911 3.2 Carrera isn't nearly as fast, he told me. Below, equipped with 300W of lights for a night race, it overtakes a Colani GT.
Recently the undercarriage was modified for better aerodynamic and more airflow to the brakes. Later the engine will be more insulated, to comply with new regulations about sound limits.
Fly on, Silver Hawk!
