Saab-Scania '2'-series photos / Konditori 100

The '2' series came into production in 1981, with the models 82, 112 and 142. In 1985 the 92 came. The 2 series trucks were built with modules, for a better possibility to mass produce modules and assemble trucks for various needs and markets. When the 2 series was replaced in 1988, 170.158 trucks in 116 versions had been built (not counting both right hand and left hand steered versions).

Short about the letters in the names: There are four basic types suitable for various needs and tastes (of which three are 'bulldog' types): G (city distribution), P (local and distance traffic), R (distance traffic) and T (torpedo coach). There are three chassis types: M (medium duty), H (heavy duty) and E (extra heavy duty). So, a G92M is built for traffic in urban areas, and has a chassis built with strenght for medium duty. Then there are various engines et cetera...

Down there is a 112H.

This 112H was used for the tour with Swedish artist Markoolio in summer of 2000.

This 112M was the only Scania I saw when visiting New York in 2004.

Isn't it a Scania 2-series truck under the snow? Seems to be repaired, in Kiruna in northern Sweden.

That is, the part of Kiruna that has been constructed in "Miniatur Wunderland" in Hamburg.

Yes, the construction work was going on. What a fascinating and amusing miniature railway set! When I visited in lat 2005, they had some 550 trains and zillions of vehicles and figures and many more items.

At the 2006 Swedish Airforce Show this K112 was parked.
