S70 and V70 arrived in 1996, to replace the 850 models. In 1997 the Volvo V70 XC (Cross Country) hit the roads and the off-roads.

The first and the second generation Volvo V70. The second was launched in January 2000.

The production of S70 and V70 continued after Fords purchase of Volvo Cars in 1999.

In early 2008 I thought it would be nice to have some more photos of the S70, and it was not hard to find a couple of them.

As with the V70, they look very much like the 850 series that they replaced.

I also managed, though it was not as easy, to get photos of a V70 XC.
