The PV830 series (sometimes called PV83) arrived in 1950, as successor to the popular 800 (PV80) and 820 (PV82) taxi models. The PV831 (with window between passengers and driver sofa) and PV832 (without ...), and the chassis versions PV833-834, were made 1950-58 (4.135 resp. 2.081).
(According to one source PV835 was built as PV833 or PV834. Sometimes Volvos model numbers seems a bit confusing...)
Two of the taxis were still in use in Stockholm in 1984.

PV835 from 1958, as a small truck.
PV833 or PV834 from 1956. No, it's not a police car - it's an ambulance. Saved thanks to a person on the Norwegian road authorities. In 1982 the company who owned the car had plans to rebuild it to a pick-up truck, and luckily contacted authorities before beginning.

This one was in taxi traffic in 2006.

Nice to see.
