The 850 GLT was presented in mid 1991, 850 GLE in 1992 and the estate model in 1993. Later in 1993 came 850 Turbo and in 1994 850 GL. The 850 T-5R was also introduced in 1994, and it was the fastest and sportiest Volvo built so far. It was built as estate wagon too. In 1995 the 850 TDI came, using Audis dieselturbo engine, and in 1996 the AWD version was introduced. In november 1996, the 850 models are succeeded by S70 and V70.

850 passing some Saab products - 37 "Viggen", that also have Volvo engines.

On Heimaey, Iceland, in May 2007 - I'd say that that is an 850.
Goodbye, dear friend, and thank you for many pleasant miles and memories.
After my holiday in 2007 I came home to my 1992 850 GLT, that now had a severly damaged engine.

The last time I saw it I took some photos of the inside. (Why hadn't I done so earlier?)

Did I love those seats, and the roomy space for my legs. But, they sure got hot in sunshine when I forgot to park the car in a suitable direction (or use the sunshield my son gave me).
