The PV53-57 series were modified versions of the PV51-52. They were made 1938-45, in five models. PV53 was the standard model and PV55 de luxe (both with the spare tyre on the boot lid). The same with PV54 and PV56, but these had the spare tyre inside the boot and a bulkier lid. PV57 was the chassis model.

The first owner of this PV56 from 1938 was the swedish authoress Selma Lagerlöf.

That's a much nicer background to this beautiful car...
A PV56, 1939, bringing the family to a sunday breakfast in a park?

A pointed hood has its advantages...

This car was built in 1939, the driver hastily told me when he drove away. It is a PV54. After the photo was published here, Bengt Eriksson told me that it was rebuilt to a pick-up in 1947 when in use by the police in Stockholm.
