Volvo built 250-260 armoured trucks during World War II. However, the body was a Scania-Vabis design. The Volvo trucks were called Vkp and the Scania-Vabis Skp (262 trucks).
They were taken into service in 1942, and the last ones were retired from the Swedish Army in 1999. With a weight of 8,5 metric tonnes and 17 men they could reach 70 km/h. The original armament was two machine-guns.
This Vkp was built in 1939, a sign told me.

Another Vkp m/42
I saw this one at a military vehicle exhibition during the closing of the regiment in Strängnäs in 2005, and I got the impression that this is a VKP.

It has the original body.

With a Landsverk pvkv m/43.

In front of a Landsverk strv 74.
I find contradictionary info about the trucks that were painted white for U.N. service. According to one source the Vkp trucks were used only in Sweden, while a number of the Skp trucks later got white paint. But, the sign at this truck said that it is a Vkp.
An early stealth design...
